SOCIAL NETWORKING SITES:

Is it an influential freak or a desired leisure pursuit?
Is it a root of war or a medium of convenient communication?

I know the answer would be a gigantic YES if I ask you now if you have an account from the prestigious sites such as FACEBOOK.COM, MYSPACE.COM, TWITTER.COM, and many others. Probably and precisely YES. Even I have not just one but 3 accounts from the social networking site FACEBOOK – quite numerous.

Anyways, through this cyber world – not only teens but almost half of the total population of the world were invaded by this craze and it’s getting bigger and bigger, indeed and undeniably. Way back to those past few months, new about some of these sites were published encompassing the idea of banning it to public offices, private companies and universities because it is very much addictive and catches the attention of every individual that they don’t have enough time to do their required tasks. It’s an influential freak for those employers and school faculties yet it is a preferred and desired past time of those students and employees.

Another issue is the “WAR” stuff via these sites, Cristine Reyes vs. Sarah G, Angelica Panganiban vs. Phil Younghusband fans and a lot more. These bits and pieces mentioned touch the concept of being ethical and unethical. In this state, the sites were no longer used as medium of communication but an intermediate of initiating a conflict that shows the hostility of an individual. Fair enough that many used this to communicate friends over distance but there are times that it is being utilized in a wide of the mark way.

We have to remember that being ethical is not being where you are now or what rank are in but being good and moral in the eyes of people and the whole society.

We have these options, be ethical or not.

And it would be better if you choose the first alternative.

Learn to used it a good way.

BIOMETRICS: “No keys to lose, forget or drop.”

Credit cards can be counterfeited;
Passwords can be guessed or stolen.
Is there a “foolproof” way to identify someone?

The answer is YES, here comes BIOMETRICS.

BIOMETRICS is biological characteristics that are unique to an individual (e.g. fingerprints, voice prints, the face, hand geometry, retina scans, and DNA).
Through this new technology security is undeniably at hand and it prevents fraud and identity theft from occurring rapidly.

At a first look, we can always say that it fits a lot to the need of every individual of having a good security measure and provides a precise or unique identity that no one can create a replica for another’s profit.
Now, do you really believe that this statement really imply a perfect thought?
It’s too early to utter your big YES.

Think of this obscure dilemma that may let you think for minute.

Scenarios considering Biometrics:

•If a theft steals your identity through Social Security Numbers, etc., we can really get a new one. HOWEVER, if a hacker gets a copy of the file with the digitalized thumbprint (for instance), we cannot get a new one.

•Biometrics makes it easier to build dossier on people. Meaning through biometrics, those spies can really get your complete if not, almost inclusive record or profiles of yours that could be used in whatever way that they wanted.

Now, did you understand the tight spot of using or not engaging to biometrics?
The decision is yours to be made.
Mine here is to give you some sort of realization, but the most important thing to be made before doing any action is to be more vigilant and never give your 100 percent trust, not only to those unfamiliar person or aliens but to everybody because you’ll never know what’s on their mind. BE PRACTICAL and BE A KEEN OBSERVANT.

*** the purpose of this blog is not to offend anyone but to express the viewpoint of student on to what is ethics and how it is important to the society nowadays.

Got ETHICS?! You must. It's a must.

Ethics, also known as moral philosophy is a branch of philosophy that addresses questions about morality—that is, concepts such as good and evil, right and wrong, virtue and vice, justice, etc. [1]

However, it depends on the society or place where you reside. But being ethical is significant.. It's not about prestige..
It's not about money..
It's not about convenience
yet it is about being
- moral
- educated
- good
